Is there an age policy?

Yes — Bathhouse access is available to guests 18+, or 14+ with a legal guardian.

Massage services are limited to guests 18+.

Am I being charged when I book? What are the payment options?

Nope! We just require a card to secure your appointment—you won't be charged until checkout at the end of your visit. Memberships and available vouchers will be applied.

Please note that we’re now cashless!

What is good etiquette?

We're so glad you asked!

Everyone must shower before beginning their thermal cycle.

In the sauna, always sit on your towel and ask your fellow bathers before adding steam (löyly). Please be mindful of appropriate conversation.

Be sure to rinse off before every cold plunge, entering and exiting with care.

Be courteous. Respect shared spaces to keep the bathhouse experience exceptional for all.

You can find our complete list of house rules here.

What should I know before my first visit?

If it’s your first visit, don’t worry! Our staff is happy to orient you to the space and answer any questions. Think of it as a space to unwind, refresh, and move at your own pace. Bring a bathing suit, and let us take care of the rest!

What do I bring?

You will need a non-sheer bathing suit that provides reasonable coverage.

We provide towels, private changing rooms, and outdoor patio showers with our in-house line of bathing products. Samples of our body oils are available at checkout.

We recommend that bathers bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. No glass in the Sauna Garden, please.

Should I tip?

Tipping is optional and always appreciated!

Our team works hard to create a space that’s welcoming, and restorative, and of course—clean.

If we made your day, this is one meaningful way to let us know.

Can you speak to the possible health benefits?

There’s a growing body of research behind what bathhouse goers have known for centuries: The benefits of saunas and cold plunges go beyond feeling good. They’re measurable. Read more about the benefits of sauna use for the cardiometabolic system and hypertension, the role of cold plunges in exercise recovery and on lowering high blood pressure, and how alternating hot and cold therapy does everything from regulating the parasympathetic nervous system to reducing inflammation, improving symptoms of endometriosis, and unlocking creativity.

Do you have a changing area?

Yes — we have private changing rooms and our restrooms are gender neutral.

We are an inclusive space where everyone is welcome.

Do you have men’s and women’s days?

We don’t—the Sauna Garden is a shared, co-ed space designed to foster inclusivity and community. Dry changing areas are private, and our restrooms are gender-neutral.

Do you offer refreshments?

We have a light beverage service which includes premium hot teas, kombucha, electrolyte mixes and other zero-proof options. Please do not bring food into the Sauna Garden.

How do I contact someone?

You can send an email to austinnorthloop@saunahouse.com or call us at (512) 596-3303

Why is Sauna House tech-free?

The research is unanimous: too much screen time is bad for our health. Our bathhouse is phone-free so you can disconnect from screens to reconnect with your body in an intentional space. Embrace rest, reduce stress, and reclaim some freedom from your devices. Your brain will thank you.

We’re all about a quick selfie moment, but otherwise, please leave your phone in your locker during your visit.

What's included in a 75-minute Sauna Garden visit?

Move between traditional Finnish saunas, cold plunges, and heated lounge benches by Galanter & Jones. Patio showers and private changing areas are available throughout your visit.

Are there any health conditions or restrictions ?

If you’re pregnant, have heart conditions, or any other health concerns, we recommend consulting your doctor before visiting. Please inform our staff if you have specific needs, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
