What are the benefits of thermally modified wood?
Thermally modified wood is rot-resistant, dimensionally stable, and beautiful. The preservative-free thermal modification process uses high heat to treat the wood, causing chemical changes that result in improved durability, increased stability, and enhanced color.
Do I need an electrician to install my sauna?
Yes. We recommend licensed electricians for all of our saunas.
How long does it take to receive my sauna after I order it?
These are estimates, not guarantees, but to give you an idea: Barrel saunas typically arrive in 2-5 weeks. Indoor modular saunas typically arrive in 2-8 weeks. Outdoor saunas typically arrive in 8-12 weeks.
How much does shipping cost?
Saunas are heavy! Shipping is usually between $500-$1,500. Exact costs will be calculated at checkout.
How does sauna delivery work?
Saunas are delivered by a freight carrier. All barrel saunas and indoor modular saunas ship in big wooden crates. Some outdoor saunas ship completely assembled. For a detailed description of the shipping for each sauna, head to the product details section of the product that you’re interested in.
Why don’t the saunas come with heaters?
We don’t combine our saunas and heaters because there are usually multiple heaters that will work with each sauna. As an example, a 4-person barrel sauna can be paired with a 6kw Huum Drop which in most cases is the ideal choice. However, if you live in an extremely cold climate, pairing your 4-person barrel sauna with a 7.5kw Huum Drop heater might be a good idea.

How hot do traditional saunas get?
Traditional saunas can reach temperatures over 200 degrees Fahrenheit! Although, 170-190 is much more typical.
How long do saunas take to heat up?
On average 30-60 minutes. The main variables are the ambient temperature outside of the sauna and the size of the heater relative to the size of the sauna. We can help you properly size your heater for your sauna for the perfect balance of performance and efficiency.
What maintenance does a sauna require?
Saunas are pretty easy to maintain. Keeping your sauna clean is the most important thing you can do to preserve it. A simple wipe-down with a wet rag after each use will help keep your sauna looking and smelling fresh. Occasional cleaning with a sauna-safe cleaning agent will make regular cleaning more effective. Also, a yearly treatment with a sauna-specific oil or wax can help protect your sauna from water and staining as well it brings out the color and grain in your sauna's wood.
Do Huum sauna heaters make steam?
Huum sauna heaters are essentially big baskets of stones so when you pour water over all of that hot surface area it creates CLOUDS of steam.

How long does the custom sauna build process take?
The custom sauna process has two phases: the design phase and the production phase. The design phase is typically 2-4 weeks and the production phase is typically 8-10 weeks, making a typical custom project timeline 10-14 weeks. Reach out to Rory for custom projects.
